Dan Maskell Tennis Trust
Serving Tennis to Disabled People

Stanmore House School

Stanmore House School in Lanark, Scotland supports children with complex needs through a multidisciplinary combination of teaching, nursing, and therapy. Recently, the Dan Maskell Tennis Trust granted funding towards the school to deliver their first ever tennis programme! Our friends at LUSU sports travelled up to Scotland to give all staff the chance to take part in sensory tennis training. We were also able to fund an equipment package (pictured) so that staff can now run a tennis programme. It is great to know that these children will experience tennis for the first time thanks to our funding.

Russell Shaw, the schools PE teacher prepared the application and organised the training day. He said: ‘This funding from the Dan Maskell Tennis Trust is a great help for not only our staff but the pupils who attend the school, they will be able to pick up new skills and work on existing ones using the sensory tennis equipment gained through our grant. The training course was excellent, really enjoyable and engaging, delivered by two great enthusiastic and knowledgeable trainers in Lou and Sue.’
