This is a social doubles event for recreational players who enter as individuals (partners to be allocated). This event is ideal for players who are a bit nervous to enter a tournament as it is social and doubles only!

SATURDAY DINNER
We will not be organising a formal event dinner this year but we have made a group reservation for 7pm at the Greyhound Pub, GL2 0XH (2 miles from the tennis centre) and we hope that you will join us. Please contact Liz if you would like to be added to the reservation. You will order and pay for what you like.
TIMINGS
Sign in and play/warm up to begin on Saturday 9th May at midday, with matches running to 5/6pm.
Sunday matches to start from 11am with all matches/finals/presentation wrapped up by 4pm.

A 2 course dinner will be held on Saturday evening 10th May at the Tennis Centre – this meal has been subsidised by the Trust and we would really love to see all players there

TOURNAMENT DINNER
A social dinner will be held at the tennis centre on the Saturday evening. The Two Course meal will cost £25 per person. Player’s guests are invited to join us, this will be a great chance to chat with other players.

2024 Event
Saturday 11th & Sunday 12th May 2024 at
THE SHREWSBURY CLUB, SUNDORNE ROAD, SHREWSBURY SY1 4RG
In 2024 we hosted another successful Recreational Wheelchair Tennis Doubles event. We had 18 players taking part which involved players changing partners 3 times on Saturday and then going into more of a knock out style of competition on Sunday with the same partner. The matches were all played in great spirit and it was a really fun and social weekend. The tournament dinner, held at the Shrewsbury Club, was attended by most players and we ran our usual fundraising raffle with some great prizes on offer.
We wish to offer a big thank you to all the friendly staff at the Shrewsbury Club who made us very welcome, especially the catering staff who kept us very well fed! Also a big thank you to our Referee Mike Hayes for his spectacular organisation and to our Trustee Noel who also puts in a lot of work to get the weekend running smoothly on court. EPC Wheelchairs provided a repair service and donated prizes to our winners which is always appreciated!
2024 Entry Details
This is a social doubles event for recreational players who enter as individuals (partners to be allocated). You will play approx 3 short matches on Saturday all with different partners and then on Sunday a draw will be made of groups, depending on points accrued Saturday. On Sunday you will keep the same partner for the day.
